There are lots of separate baby shower games that have been played for years all over the world. You can also come up with wholly new games that put these fun cakes at the town of attention for at least part of the party.
There is no end to how diaper cakes can be used for baby shower games, but here are some ideas to get you started. What ideas can you think of to use your cake as a party game? Add to the list and put your ideas into action at your next shower.
Diaper Estimate
How many diapers do your guests think are in the cake? You can't let your guests count the diapers on the cake, so you will have to handle this one in a special way. Bring the cake out only when the game is about to start and set it in the town of the room or at the very front where it is a length away from all guests. Give them just 60 seconds or less to write down how many diapers they think are in the whole cake collectively.
You don't want to give a lot of time because you don't want anyone to as a matter of fact count the diapers on any tier. The goal is to see who can give the closest estimate. They should be rewarded with a door prize of some sort for winning.
Which is Bigger?
Which do you guests think is bigger...the diaper cake or the mommy-to-be's belly? This is a fun game that gives a unique spin to the toilet paper game where guests are asked to pull of a line of paper that represents the size of the mother's pregnant belly. Only in this version they are guessing whether the thickest tier of the cake is small or larger nearby than the expectant mother's belly.
The expectant mom can be asked to stand by the cake for a brief comparison and you can still use toilet paper to portion both the cake and stomach to see which is bigger. This works best with cakes that have large tiers for the bottom layer.
The Dirty Layer
Take the smallest tier of the cake and place a bit of mustard inside the folds of one diaper. You may want to have a special tier of the cake designed or possibly a isolate tier, just for this game. Guests have to take turns picking a diaper and pulling it out, trying to find the dirty diaper. The one who finds it first gets a surprise!
You can come up with your own ways to incorporate diaper cakes into the fun activities of your baby shower. Get creative and have a blast!

Newborn Baby Checklist - A faultless List of Newborn Needs For the New Mom
The long awaited day is approximately here! Soon you will hold a high-priced baby in your arms, and you want everything to be perfect!
Bringing home a newborn baby, especially when it is your first, can be daunting. Such big changes and unknowns can cause a new mom stress. "De-stressify" your making ready with this newborn baby checklist. It will help give you the belief to know you are prepared!
The following newborn baby checklist can be used as a guideline in the quest to be prepared for your new arrival. While no checklist will have you prepared for everything (like finding out your mother-in-law will be coming to "help" for a few weeks), this one ought to come close!
Clothing - Newborn babies grow into the next size very quickly! Don't go crazy purchasing the tiny newborn clothing items, or you may find that your baby has outgrown them before he/she has even had a opportunity to try them on! By the time your baby is about 8-9 pounds, you will need the 3 month old clothing (these will last until your baby is about 12 pounds). Some larger babies even skip the newborn size altogether!
The quantities listed here are based on the assumption that you will be washing your laundry at least 2 times per week.
5-10 newborn sized outfits
2 sweaters
5-7 sleepwear
2-4 wearable blankets or sleep sacks
4-6 onsies
dress clothes
2 pairs of mittens (for preventing scratches)
hats - one for warmth and one for shade
snowsuit - do Not use when your baby is in his/her car seat
6-10 pairs of socks (more is great because they are so microscopic that they get lost or "eaten" by the washing machine)
accessories - such as shoes, hair decor, jewelry
mild laundry detergent
Bathing and Grooming - When my first baby was born, we had very microscopic in the way of baby supplies - and nothing for bathing. Do you know what we discovered? We didn't honestly need much. He got perfectly clean when I bathed him in the bathroom sink and washed his hair with the kitchen sink hose.
So why did I include most of the following items in this newborn baby checklist? Convenience. There is a Lot to be said for convenience when you have a newborn baby in the house!
baby tub or baby bathing sponge
4 baby washcloths
2 hooded towels
baby lotion
baby brush
infant nail clippers
baby shampoo/body wash
bath thermometer
Nursery Items - A beautifully decked-out nursery is a fun way to put in order for your new baby. Giving the baby's room personality and then putting away the items he/she will be using makes it start feeling like he will honestly be arriving soon! Consider:
dresser
baby size hangers
rocking chair
cd player with soothing cds
night light
nursery decor - wall hangings, window coverings, bed skirt
Diapering - "Changing a diaper is a lot like getting a present from your grandmother - you're not sure what you've got but you're pretty sure you're not going to like it." (Foxworthy) No baby checklist would be perfect without "covering" this.
wet wipes - whether market or home-made
changing table with a water-proof pad
3 washable changing pad covers
hand sanitizer
diaper rash remedy
wipe warmer
diaper disposal or diaper pail with liners
basket or diaper possessor for keeping diapers orderly
If using disposable diapers:
10-12 disposable diapers per day
Or
If using cloth diapers:
24-36 cloth diapers
8-10 diaper covers
inserts and liners
diaper pins if the chosen law calls for them
diaper sprayer
Feeding - After you have decided whether you will be breastfeeding or bottle feeding, you will want to consider which items you will need to assist you in growing a healthy baby.
Breastfeeding Needs:
3-5 nursing bras
nursing pads - washable or disposable
breast pump
nipple cream
breast milk warehouse containers
breast feeing pillow
nursing cover
10 burp rags
Bottle Feeding Needs:
bottles (Bpa free) - start with just a few until you know what your baby will prefer
nipples (clear silicone)
formula - don't stock up until you know it will "agree" with your baby
10 burp rags
bottle brush
bottle warmer
drying rack
sterilization bags
Sleeping - Newborn babies spend about 18 out of every 24 hours sleeping. At least some of that time you will want to put him/her down to tend to your own needs. Your baby's safety while that time is paramount. Providing a safe, comfortable, customary place to sleep will help your baby develop good sleeping habits which will in turn facilitate Your sleep. You will need:
sleeping place - crib with mattress, transported crib, bassinet, Moses basket, or co-sleeper
2 mattress pads
3 fitted sheets
6-8 receiving blankets
baby monitor
a small fan for air circulation and white noise
Traveling - whether it is across town or across the country - you will want to show off your baby (or at least re-stock on diapers). Traveling with a newborn is more complicated than grabbing your keys and walking out the door, but you will be prepared for any trip if you have:
car seat
diaper bag
replacement car seat cover
stroller
baby sling or carrier
blankets of varying thicknesses
car seat voyage bag for air travel
portable crib
Health - No one likes to think about their baby becoming ill, but sooner or later it is bound to happen. Be prepared by having the following items on hand:
infant acetaminophen - use with newborns only under advisement of your pediatrician
saline nasal spray
a great pediatrician
Don't forget to add your baby to your condition insurance policy!
Safety - Your newborn won't be movable for a few months, but you will want to have safety items in place well before that occurs.
safety gates
corner/edge bumpers
safety locks
outlet covers
Development and Entertainment - Most of your newborn baby's early amelioration will come from the cuddling, singing, talking, and interaction in case, granted by the ones who love him/her the most. A few items that will stimulate and entertain him/her while you are occupied will be useful to you both.
baby movable or a plastic mirror for the crib
a few toys of differing textures
baby swing and/or baby bouncer
baby book for recording all of the milestones
A base "rookie mom" mistake is caring for her baby to the exclusion of caring for herself. Don't forget to make "mommy care" a priority, too. Add your favorite bubble bath to your newborn baby checklist - and then use it!

Baby Shower Games - Baby Shower Pictionary Word List
A baby shower isn't a baby shower until you've played a few fun games. However, some moms-to-be may feel embarrassed by some games, and some guests may feel awkward doing things such as smelling melted chocolate out of diapers. Don't fret! You can still have a ton of fun with some original games such as Pictionary, that can be customized for a baby shower. This is a first-rate game of guess what was drawn - and can be played by every person attending the party.
The rules to play are simple. Divide the group into two or more teams and have ready a list of baby themed words on index cards or small pieces of paper. Have the mom-to-be draw a card from the deck and give it to each team. Each team picks person to draw for them. Let each team take timed turns trying to guess what was drawn. A accurate talk scores the team a point and you can select how many rounds to play.
What will you need for baby pictionary? also a list of words on index cards, you will need an easel, a large pad of drawing paper and markers. Alternatively, you could use a dry erase board and markers as well. If you select to use a large pad of drawing paper, you could give this to the mom-to-be as a memento for the day.
The hardest part of the game is choosing what words you will use for pictionary. You can select baby related words such as: baby bottle, pacifier, diapers, crying, onsises, burping, spit up, bibs, rattle, Abc blocks, teddy bear, blankets, or rubber ducky. You can also use baby furniture words such as high chair, crib, stroller, car seat, baby bath, sling, bouncy seat, swing, diaper bag.
Pregnancy, childbirth and motherhood words are also good for this and can invoke a lot of laughs from your guests. Words such as sore nipples, sleepless nights, maternity bras, breast feeding, bottle feeding, caravan, pushing, swollen feet, epidural, hospital gown, labor, crowing, cutting the cord, heart burn and stretch marks.
You can also use words that are related to the parents. Use words that reveal to their occupations, how they met, pet names, food the mom craved, favorite places to go, favorite movie, or something funny that happened while the pregnancy. Pick out words that will be meaningful to the parents and that are sure to invoke a laugh from your guests and you will have a fun baby pictionary game that every person will remember. Don't forget the door prizes too, a thriving baby shower game always includes prizes! You could give the winning team small items such as keychains, chocolate, ageement mirrors or pretty baby shower candles for a unique memento.

Baby Shower Diaper Raffle Game
A baby shower diaper raffle is a fun and useful door prize game. If you are planning on having a diaper themed baby shower then a diaper raffle is a fun baby shower diaper game to play, what's even more cool is that the expectant mother will end up getting lots of well needed diapers.
Before the shower you need to make sure that you have adequate diaper raffle tickets so that each someone that brings a diaper gets a ticket. When sending out invitations contain data to let persons know there will be a diaper raffle drawing. That way they know ahead of time and not feel left out or on the other hand, obligated to share if they don't want to. Lots of hostesses contain a short poem or a rhyme in the invitation to alert guests that there will raffle.
Diapers are high-priced so you want to choose a raffle prize that guests will see as being worthwhile since they will be forking out extra on diapers in addition to their shower gift. I recommend a allocation of thirty to sixty dollars. Some ideas for a prize could be a small appliance, gift certificate or day pass to a spa or even tickets to a play, show or game. Just ensure that the prize will be something that the winner will appreciate and will use. If your allocation allows you can also buy prizes for second and third place winners.
How to Play Baby Shower Diaper Raffle
When guests arrive, all those that have a pack of babydiapers will be given a raffle ticket. Guests will
receive a raffle mark for each pack of diaper they bring, you can also add that bringing a pack of baby wipes will also buy them a ticket. Fetch all the raffle mark stubs in a bowl or basket for the drawing later on while the shower.
During the shower announce that you will be having the diaper raffle draw so that everyone can get their mark ready in hand. Pick a mark from the bowl and call out the number or the name for that lucky someone as the winner and show everyone what that someone has won as the grand prize.
Another way to play this baby shower diaper game is instead of asking persons to take along diapers to be eligible for the draw the hostess can let guests know that they can buy a raffle mark for the low low cost of a dollar. So for every dollar a guest will get one ticket. All proceeds will go towards the babydiaper fund. Have the drawing to choose a winner but bear in mind that because the cost is so low you do not want to spend too much on the prize. A good idea would be to go to a dollar store and buy a few items to make a nice gift bag with some hand lotion, a loofah, bath lotion etc. Or you can even bake up a batch of cookies or brownies as the prize.
